Monroe Resident Reunites with Missing Dog After Six-Day Search
Nate Bitter, a resident of Monroe, Connecticut, was reunited with his dog, Spade, after a six-day search. Spade, a black and white rescue dog, went missing on July 9 when she bolted after being startled by a garbage truck. Bitter, who had adopted Spade after finding her abandoned and underweight, launched an extensive search involving social media, local volunteers, and professional search teams. The search included the use of scent-tracking canines and an underwater drone to ensure Spade had not drowned in a nearby lake. The community rallied around Bitter, with many residents joining search parties and offering support. Spade was eventually found in a wooded area, and the emotional reunion was marked by Spade crawling towards Bitter and licking his face.
