Aberdeen Mayor Travis Schaunaman Shares Recovery Update and Honors Late Son
Aberdeen Mayor Travis Schaunaman has provided a personal update on his recovery following a paragliding accident that tragically resulted in the death of his eight-year-old son, Emerson. In an August 22 Facebook post, Mayor Schaunaman confirmed he has been discharged from the hospital and is now able to walk. He also noted that his daughter, Isabella, sustained injuries requiring stitches but is physically recovering well. Mayor Schaunaman credited his daughter's actions during the accident with saving his life. He also shared an emotional tribute to his late son, Emerson, describing him as intelligent, humorous, and good-natured. A GoFundMe campaign has been established to support the Schaunaman family during this difficult time.
