Switzerland Tops Best Countries List, U.S. Fails to Make Top 10
Switzerland has been ranked as the best country in the world for 2026, according to a report by US News & World Report in collaboration with the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. The rankings evaluated 100 countries across eight categories, including governance, culture and tourism, civic health, economic development, health, infrastructure, opportunity, and the natural environment. Switzerland excelled in economic development and governance, while the United States, despite being second in economic development and first in culture and tourism, did not make the top 10 due to weaker performance in health, infrastructure, and civic health.
