Airbus A350 Completes 24-Hour Nonstop Test Flight, Advancing Qantas' Project Sunrise
Airbus has successfully completed a 24-hour nonstop test flight of its A350-1000ULR aircraft, marking a significant milestone in Qantas' Project Sunrise. The aircraft flew from Melbourne, Australia, to Toulouse, France, covering a distance of 23,075 kilometers without stopping. This test is part of a two-month campaign aimed at launching the world's longest commercial passenger services, which will eliminate stopovers between Australia and Europe. The A350-1000ULR is specially adapted with an extra fuel tank and is set to debut on Qantas' nonstop Sydney-London route in 2027. The flight was the second-most-tracked on Flightradar24, with over 3.6 million people following its progress.
