Iran National Standards Organization Hosts Webinar on World Food Safety Day to Address Foodborne Disease Challenges
On June 16, 2026, the Iran National Standards Organization (INSO) conducted a national webinar to commemorate World Food Safety Day under the theme 'From Burden to Solutions: Safe Food Everywhere.' The event featured six expert presentations focusing on food safety topics, including standardization, risk analysis, and public policy. The discussions emphasized the importance of technical regulations and standards in safeguarding public health, promoting fair trade, and enhancing consumer confidence. Presentations also covered science-based risk analysis, preventive measures like Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), and challenges such as pesticide residue limits and laboratory capacity. The webinar underscored Iran's commitment to risk-based food control systems and cooperation within the Codex Alimentarius framework.
