China Unveils Fuxi Humanoid Robot for Remote Operations in Hazardous Environments
China North Industries Group Corporation (NORINCO Group) has developed the Fuxi humanoid robot, designed for reconnaissance, patrols, and operations in hazardous environments. This special-purpose robot can operate in all weather conditions and allows human operators to control its movements remotely in real time. NORINCO has also created a dedicated teleoperation system called 'external avatar,' which is described as China’s first independently controllable teleoperation solution for full-size humanoid robots weighing approximately 198 pounds (90 kilograms). The Fuxi robot utilizes domestically developed technologies focusing on human motion sensing, motion transfer between robotic platforms, and whole-body coordination. It can identify personnel and issue alerts for abnormal situations, making it suitable for sentry and surveillance roles.
