Taiwan Aligns with US and Israel Amid Middle East Conflict, Signals Strategic Intentions
Taiwan has demonstrated support for the joint US-Israel military campaign against Iran, known as Operation Roaring Lion or Epic Fury. This move marks a continuation of Taiwan's strategic alignment with Israel, initiated in October 2023. Taiwan has provided humanitarian aid to Beit Shemesh, a city impacted by an Iranian missile, emphasizing its stance against the Iranian regime. The alignment is not only moral but strategic, as Taiwan seeks to learn from Israel's national security policies and align itself with the United States. Taiwan's approach is influenced by its concerns over potential aggression from China, mirroring the regional threats faced by Israel. The collaboration includes modernizing Taiwan's defense policy and adopting Israel's cybersecurity model.
