Congressman Seth Moulton Honors Brigadier General Andrea Gayle-Bennett with Peter J. Gomes Service Award
Congressman Seth Moulton has honored Brigadier General Andrea Gayle-Bennett of Lynn as the recipient of the 11th Annual Peter J. Gomes Service Award. The award ceremony took place in Salem, where five individuals were recognized for their significant community contributions across Massachusetts’ 6th District. Brigadier General Gayle-Bennett was specifically lauded for her tireless advocacy for veterans, ensuring they have access to housing, food, and robust support networks. The Peter J. Gomes Service Award acknowledges outstanding volunteer work and community service, named after the late Reverend Professor Peter Gomes, a Christian minister and Harvard University professor who served as a mentor to Congressman Moulton. Other honorees included Pam Kentley of Salem, Prataap Patrose of Gloucester, Jo Hamel of Amesbury, and Lorraine Sanborn of Saugus. Jo Hamel, for instance, founded the nonprofit Caiden’s Crusaders to raise funds for families affected by childhood cancer.
