Human Rights Foundation Seeks Public Vote to Bring Freedom-Focused Sessions to SXSW 2027
The Human Rights Foundation (HRF) is actively seeking public votes to secure a platform for its ideas at South by Southwest (SXSW) 2027 in Austin, Texas. Each year, HRF endeavors to highlight global freedom struggles at SXSW, a major gathering for innovators, creators, technologists, and thought leaders. For SXSW 2027, HRF has submitted eight session proposals covering a range of topics related to combating authoritarianism. These proposals include discussions on AI-powered tools for dissidents, freedom technology in North Korea, the politics of women's football, illicit sports betting, and the role of comedy in challenging censorship. The public voting period for SXSW Community Voting is open until August 23, allowing individuals to support the sessions they wish to see featured at the festival.
