US and EU Forge Strategic Partnership on Critical Minerals
The United States and European Union have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enhance their strategic partnership on critical minerals. The agreement, signed by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and EU Trade Commissioner Maroš Šefčovič, focuses on cooperation across the critical minerals value chain, including exploration, extraction, processing, and recycling. The partnership aims to strengthen trade policies, promote investment, and ensure reliable supply chains for critical minerals, reducing dependency on monopolized sources. This initiative follows a similar agreement between the US and Japan, emphasizing the importance of supply chain resilience.
