Multiple myeloma affects plasma cells in the bone marrow, leading to a range of health complications. Scialfa has been managing her condition by being cautious about her activities and exposure to potential infections, given the impact of the disease on her immune system. Despite her health challenges, she occasionally joins Springsteen on stage, which she describes as a treat.
