U.S. Forest Service and U.S. Endowment for Forestry and Communities Launch FACT Data Platform Beta
The U.S. Forest Service and the U.S. Endowment for Forestry and Communities have announced the Beta launch of the Forestry Analytics for Carbon Tracking (FACT) platform. This new science-based digital platform aims to provide transparent and accessible U.S. forest and harvested wood product carbon data at no cost to users. The initiative addresses the challenge faced by landowners and businesses in reporting and communicating carbon information, as existing data is often fragmented, inconsistent, and expensive to compile. FACT consolidates previously siloed public and private data into a single, free, and transparent resource. This public-private effort, led by the Endowment, the Forest Service, and the forest sector, includes input from scientists, engineers, and practitioners.
