Virginia Approves $500K in Grants for Agriculture and Forestry Projects
Virginia's Governor's office has announced the allocation of over $500,000 in grants through the Agriculture and Forestry Industries Development Fund Infrastructure Grants program. These funds will support various agriculture and forestry projects across 14 localities in Virginia. The initiatives include enhancing animal and wood product processing facilities, establishing shared-use canneries and commercial kitchens, developing farmers' markets, expanding creameries, and creating a new regional livestock marketing complex. Specific projects receiving funding include $50,000 for Covington to renovate a building into a produce packing and processing facility, $50,000 for the Town of New Market to construct a permanent Downtown Marketplace Pavilion, and $50,000 for Page County to establish the Page Valley Food & Visitor Hub, a commercial kitchen.
