Nashville Congressional Primaries Set Stage for November Elections
The recent congressional primaries in Nashville have set the stage for the upcoming general elections. In the 4th Congressional District, incumbent Republican Scott DesJarlais secured his party's nomination despite past controversies. Victoria Broderick won the Democratic nomination, inspired by the overturning of Roe v. Wade. In the 6th District, Johnny Garrett won the Republican primary, supported by prominent figures like U.S. House Majority Leader Steve Scalise. Garrett's campaign focused on anti-trans issues and immigration. Mike Croley, a Navy veteran, won the Democratic nomination. In the 7th District, Matt Van Epps secured the GOP nomination unopposed, while Darden Copeland will challenge him as the Democratic candidate.
