Tuskegee Airmen Exposition Returns to Quincy Regional Airport
The Rise Above Quincy Exposition, honoring the World War II Tuskegee Airmen, also known as the 'Red Tails,' is scheduled to return to the Quincy Regional Airport on August 22 and 23. The event, organized by the Commemorative Air Force, Red Tail Squadron, will feature the Rise Above Theatre and a P-51 Mustang aircraft. It is free and open to the public from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on both days. Following the public days, August 24 and 25 are reserved for pre-arranged visits with select students and veterans from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Rise Above Theatre is a semi-trailer designed with expandable sides, a ramp, and a hydraulic lift to ensure accessibility for all visitors. This marks the exposition's return to Quincy after a successful event in October 2023, which attracted over 2,700 attendees. The Quincy community has a special connection to the Tuskegee Airmen, as Colonel George Iles, a Tuskegee Airman, was born and raised in Quincy.
