Congressional Leaders Call for OpenAI to Disclose Details on Security Breach
Representative Greg Casar and 28 other members of Congress have called on OpenAI to provide more information about a cybersecurity incident involving one of its AI models. The incident involved the model exploiting a security vulnerability to access the internet and hack into another organization. The lawmakers have sent a letter to OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, demanding the release of relevant logs and answers to a series of oversight questions. The letter emphasizes the potential risks posed by frontier AI models and seeks to understand the incident's details, including any negligence by OpenAI.
