Lindale Business Owner Jailed for Selling Counterfeit Luxury Goods
Terry Lee Sanders, a 56-year-old business owner from Hideaway, Texas, has been jailed after being charged with trademark counterfeiting. The charges stem from an investigation initiated by a private investigator from a trademark firm, who provided video evidence and an affidavit of Sanders selling a counterfeit Louis Vuitton handbag. Following this complaint, Lindale police executed a search warrant at Sanders' business, New Beginnings Resale, located at 1500 S. Main St. in Lindale. During the search, authorities seized 87 counterfeit items with an estimated retail value of $14,600. The seized goods included fake merchandise bearing the trademarks of several high-end fashion brands, such as Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Chanel, Jimmy Choo, Rolex, and Saint Laurent. Sanders had opened the resale shop in January, claiming that its proceeds would benefit various nonprofits and individuals in need.
