Representatives Tlaib and Correa Reintroduce Resolution Honoring Alex Odeh, Calling for Justice
U.S. Representatives Rashida Tlaib (MI-12) and Lou Correa (CA-46) have reintroduced a resolution to honor the life and legacy of Alex Odeh. The resolution seeks to acknowledge Odeh's impact on his community and the country, while also reaffirming the importance of pursuing justice for his death. Alex Odeh, a peace activist and Southern California Regional Director of the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC), was killed on October 11, 1985, when a pipe bomb exploded as he entered the ADC regional office in Santa Ana, California. According to Representative Tlaib, Odeh was assassinated by members of the Jewish Defense League, and his killers have not yet been brought to justice. Representative Correa, whose district includes where Odeh lived and the attack occurred, emphasized that remembering Odeh and pursuing justice for his family is an obligation. The investigation into Odeh's death remains open.
