Ohio Department of Agriculture Announces Pesticide Disposal Events for Farmers
The Ohio Department of Agriculture (ODA) has announced a series of pesticide disposal events scheduled for later this summer. These events are designed to help farmers safely dispose of unwanted pesticides, which can pose significant risks to human health and the environment if not handled properly. The collection events will take place in Athens, Crawford, and Miami counties on August 3, August 24, and August 27, 2026, respectively. The events are free of charge and will only accept farm chemicals, excluding items such as paint, antifreeze, solvents, and household or non-farm pesticides. Last year, the ODA successfully collected nearly 74,000 pounds of pesticide products through similar initiatives.
