The legislation is inspired by similar efforts from state Sen. Dave Cortese, who has also been vocal about the need for better regulation of autonomous vehicles. Despite these efforts, there remains a gap in data transparency, as Waymo has not provided comprehensive reporting on the incidents, complicating efforts to assess and improve safety standards.
