Generac Power Systems Expands Recall of Pressure Washers Due to Self-Start Risk
Generac Power Systems has expanded its recall of Electric Start Pressure Washers due to a defect that causes the devices to self-start. This malfunction poses a significant risk of injury or death from carbon monoxide poisoning if the washer is used in a confined space. The recall affects 16,260 units, following six reports of self-starting incidents, although no injuries or property damage have been reported. The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) had previously recalled 53,000 units in April 2022. The affected pressure washers, equipped with an electronic start/stop button and a rechargeable battery, were sold at major retailers such as Home Depot, Amazon, and Menards between November 2021 and February 2026, priced between $500 and $590.
