IMF Disburses $188 Million to Jordan Following Economic Reform Reviews
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has disbursed $188 million to Jordan after the successful completion of the fifth review of the Kingdom's economic reform program under the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) and the second review of the Resilience and Sustainability Facility (RSF). This financing, equivalent to 137.372 million Special Drawing Rights (SDRs), includes 97.784 million SDRs (approximately $134 million) under the EFF and 39.588 million SDRs (about $54 million) under the RSF. The IMF's Executive Board approved these reviews on June 17, unlocking the additional financing. The IMF noted that Jordan has maintained macroeconomic stability despite regional security tensions, supported by prudent fiscal, monetary, and macroeconomic policies. The government has responded to regional instability by strengthening energy security, facilitating trade, and providing targeted support to affected sectors like tourism and industry.
