The Honorable Hung Cao, Acting Secretary of the Navy, visited the Hanwha Philly Shipyard on September 9, 2026. During his tour, Secretary Cao met with leadership from Hanwha Defense USA (HDUSA) and Hanwha Philly Shipyard (HPSI) to discuss Hanwha's investments in U.S. shipbuilding capacity, facility expansion, and workforce growth in Philadelphia. Secretary Cao emphasized the importance of the nation's ability to build ships at the necessary speed and scale to maintain maritime strength.
