Taylor Farms Recalls Jalapeno Products in 26 States Due to Salmonella Risk
Taylor Farms has issued a recall for all products containing fresh jalapenos across 26 states due to potential salmonella contamination. The recall follows a voluntary recall by Coast Citrus Distributors, the parent distributor of the jalapenos. Affected products include popular dips and salsas sold at major retailers such as Hannaford, Kroger, Target, Trader Joe's, Walmart, and Whole Foods. The FDA and CDC are collaborating with state health departments to investigate the multi-state salmonella outbreak linked to these jalapenos. Salmonella can cause severe health issues, particularly in vulnerable populations such as children, the elderly, and those with weakened immune systems.
