Florida Ranks Third for Summer Road Trips, Study Finds
A recent study conducted by the law firm Steel Adams Hosman has ranked Florida as the third-best state in the U.S. for summer road trips. The study evaluated states based on metrics such as road quality, availability of auto repair shops, gas stations, and road safety. Florida scored 70.45, trailing behind New Jersey (83) and Maryland (74.13). The Sunshine State was also the highest-ranked Southern state, with Tennessee and Virginia following in fourth and fifth place, respectively. Analysts highlighted Florida's well-maintained infrastructure, with 87% of its roads rated as 'acceptable,' and its robust support for motorists, including 79.91 auto repair shops and 42.68 gas stations per 1,000 kilometers. Additionally, the state offers ample opportunities for outdoor recreation, featuring 1.37 National Park Service campgrounds per 10,000 kilometers. The findings come just ahead of Memorial Day Weekend, marking the unofficial start of the summer travel season.
