European Commission Has Not Received Official U.S. Request for Ukraine Aid Repayment, Despite President Trump's Statement
The European Commission has stated it has not received an official request from the United States for compensation for military aid provided to Ukraine during the Joe Biden presidency. This comes after President Trump posted on Truth Social that he would demand Europe repay the U.S. for assistance given to Ukraine. European Commission spokesperson Olof Gill indicated that the statement likely refers to a public comment and that the Commission generally does not comment on such remarks.
