Governor Whitmer Announces Gaylord's Selection for Michigan Main Street Program
Governor Gretchen Whitmer, in conjunction with the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC), announced that Gaylord has been selected to participate in the Select Level of the Michigan Main Street (MMS) program. This designation will provide Gaylord with five years of intensive technical assistance from the MEDC, focusing on revitalization strategies. These strategies are designed to stimulate activity through new retail businesses and events, aiming to foster community pride in the Northern Michigan city. Governor Whitmer emphasized that these investments in revitalization and placemaking contribute to building vibrant communities and bustling main streets where people desire to live, work, and raise families.
