Whitehall Chief Prioritizes AI and Technology Adoption in Civil Service Reform
Dame Antonia Romeo, the new leader of the UK civil service, has outlined her top priorities, focusing on transformation and innovation across government departments. Her objectives include ensuring each department has a plan to adopt AI and technology, improving public service delivery, and enhancing skills and capabilities within the civil service. This marks the first time in a decade that such a comprehensive set of objectives has been published. Romeo's agenda also includes monitoring savings targets and overhauling performance and talent management frameworks to ensure the right people are in the right jobs.
