Nakilat Reports Decline in Profits Due to Regional Conflict Impacting Marine Services
Qatar Gas Transport Company Q.P.S.C. (Nakilat) has announced its financial results for the first half of 2026, revealing a slight decline in net profit to QAR 857 million from QAR 860 million in the same period of 2025. The company's CEO, Eng. Abdullah Al-Sulaiti, attributed the decrease to the ongoing regional conflict, which has adversely affected their Marine Services segment, including ship repair, shipping agency, and towage services. Despite these challenges, Nakilat has maintained its strategic role in providing LNG shipping services and has implemented cost-control measures to stabilize core operations. The company is also advancing its strategic growth initiatives, with a fleet expansion program that includes 40 newbuild vessels under construction in South Korea and China. Key construction milestones have been achieved, and the first deliveries are expected later in 2026.
