Heat Dome to Bake Plains Through Next Week
A powerful heat dome will expand across the Southwest and Plains from this weekend into early next week, bringing widespread 100°F temperatures from Texas to North Dakota. AccuWeather RealFeel® temperatures are expected to reach 105–110°F, with Phoenix nearing 120°F and Dallas staying above 100°F. Spotty thunderstorms may offer limited relief, but many areas will remain dry, increasing heat stress and crop concerns. Cooler air is expected to begin easing conditions across parts of the Plains by mid-to-late next week.
