Greater Good Charities and Boehringer Ingelheim Mark 5 Years of Shelter Pet Transport Success
Greater Good Charities, in collaboration with Boehringer Ingelheim, is celebrating the fifth anniversary of their 'Save a Heart' initiative, which has successfully transported over 20,000 at-risk shelter pets to new homes across the United States. This initiative includes more than 1,800 asymptomatic heartworm-positive dogs, aiming to reduce euthanasia in overcrowded shelters. The program provides medical treatment and transport for these animals, with a special transport event scheduled for April 7, moving over 45 shelter pets from Louisiana to the East Coast. Boehringer Ingelheim supports the initiative by covering medical costs and providing necessary products for heartworm prevention and treatment.
