Discord Rolls Out Major Feature Updates Following User Feedback, Enhances Platform Experience
Discord has implemented a significant collection of highly requested features, directly responding to user suggestions gathered during its 11th birthday celebrations earlier this year. The company received millions of views and over 3,000 responses to its call for feature ideas, leading to the formation of a dedicated engineering team to address these suggestions. Among the new additions, users can now pin Direct Messages (DMs) on desktop, with existing mobile pins automatically syncing. Channel pinning has been expanded beyond Community Servers to all servers. Profile enhancements include full-view profile pictures, a 'Friends Since' field indicating friendship duration, and expanded profile bios to 300 characters. For moderators, Mod View now functions for users no longer in a server (kicked or banned), role duplication has been added, and member pruning can now be restricted to server admins.
