Israel's Defense Ministry Aims for Munitions Independence Amid Rising Exports
Israel's Defense Ministry, led by Director General Maj. Gen. (Res.) Amir Baram, held a meeting with CEOs of leading defense-tech companies to discuss strategies for achieving munitions independence. The meeting highlighted Israel's plans to strengthen its defense industry by increasing domestic production and innovation. The ministry reported $330 million in defense tech exports, double the amount from the previous year. Baram emphasized the importance of munitions independence to ensure operational capability without relying on external supply chains. The meeting also focused on expanding strategic partnerships, particularly with the United States, to enhance Israel's defense capabilities.
