University of Vermont Hosts Summit on AI and Rural Prosperity
The University of Vermont is set to host the RISE Summit on June 16, focusing on community-university collaboration in rural areas. The event aims to explore how partnerships can strengthen rural communities and expand opportunities. Hosted by UVM’s Leahy Institute for Rural Partnerships, the summit will emphasize research, innovation, sustainability, and entrepreneurship. A keynote session titled 'AI and the Future Rural Economy' will discuss how rural communities can leverage emerging technologies for long-term prosperity. Panelists include Kyla Kasharian from Siegel Family Endowment, Matt Dunne from the Center on Rural Innovation, and UVM's Kate Mays. The summit will also feature sessions on economic development and community well-being, with networking opportunities and locally sourced food.
