The London Coalition on Sustainable Sovereign Debt has published an Implementation Guide for Restructuring Private Sector Sovereign Loans. This guide aims to streamline the complex process of restructuring commercial bank loans and other private sector non-bond claims, which are often more challenging to coordinate than bond restructurings. The guide, which is voluntary and non-binding, was welcomed by the Global Sovereign Debt Roundtable and referenced in the Global Sovereign Debt Restructuring Playbook. It provides practical steps to foster earlier engagement between sovereign borrowers, commercial lenders, and advisors, improve information-sharing, and establish clearer expectations for the restructuring process.
