Uniformed Services University Unveils Strategic Plan to Rebuild Military Medicine for Future Conflicts
The Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USU) has adopted a strategic plan for 2026-2029, signed by President Dr. Jonathan Woodson on July 1. This plan aims to rebuild military medicine education, research, and partnerships to prepare for future large-scale combat operations where the traditional 'Golden Hour' for casualty evacuation may not exist. The plan outlines seven priorities: curriculum reform, digital transformation, strategic partnerships, campus infrastructure, financial stability, administrative restructuring, and a philanthropy foundation. It commits USU to becoming a fully digital-first institution by 2029 and a 'high-acuity readiness and force generation platform.'
