Massachusetts Hiker Found Dead in New Hampshire's White Mountains
A 61-year-old man from West Roxbury, Massachusetts, was found dead after going missing during a hiking trip in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Kent Wood had embarked on a weekend camping and hiking trip, starting his hike on Saturday morning under warm and clear conditions. However, between Sunday and Monday, the area experienced unexpected snowfall of 3-5 inches, which Wood was not prepared for. His family reported him missing on Tuesday morning, prompting a search by New Hampshire Fish and Game, PEMI Valley Search and Rescue, and the Army National Guard Helicopter. Wood's body was discovered on a remote section of the Kinsman Pond Trail, approximately 5.5 miles from his vehicle.
