Clayton County School Introduces Interim Day for Hands-On Learning Experiences
MFL MarMac high school in Clayton County, Iowa, has implemented an 'Interim Day' program, offering students diverse hands-on learning experiences outside the traditional classroom setting. This initiative, the first in a decade for the school, was held on September 23. Language arts teacher Brandi Olson stated that the program aimed to provide engaging activities beyond typical 'sit-and-get' presentations. The day featured 26 different sessions, both on-campus and off-campus. Off-campus opportunities included visits to the Fayette County Courthouse, Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, Clayton County Sheriff’s Office, Monona Fire Department, Young Eagles Aviation, and a flight simulator at Prairie du Chien Airport.
