South Korea-Chile Summit Elevates Minerals Dialogue to Ministerial Level, Enhancing Bilateral Cooperation
South Korea and Chile have elevated their mineral resources dialogue to a ministerial level, signing a 'Mineral Resources Partnership MOU' to enhance cooperation in the exploration, development, production, processing, and utilization of key minerals such as lithium and copper. This agreement aims to stabilize the supply chain of Chilean minerals, valued at USD 2.1 billion annually, and support Korean companies entering the Chilean market. The summit also resulted in five MOUs covering public safety, maritime security, polar research, and investment, with a focus on expanding bilateral cooperation in these areas.
