US Air Force Funds Final Development of Beehive Industries' Frenzy 8 Engine for Uncrewed Aerial Systems
Beehive Industries has secured funding from the US Air Force (USAF) to finalize the development of its Frenzy 8 engine, an additively manufactured engine designed for uncrewed aerial systems. The $29.7 million contract will support the completion of vehicle integration, flight testing, and qualification of the Frenzy 8 engine. Additionally, the contract will fund further development of the Frenzy 6 engine, including the production of a first engine to test asset with options for further testing and flight demonstration. This initiative is part of the USAF's Small Expendable Turbine (SET) program, which aims to develop low-cost, disposable jet engines for various military applications. Beehive Industries has already validated the Frenzy 8 engine through extensive ground and high-altitude testing, demonstrating its scalability and readiness for further development.
