Tribal Energy Alternatives Awards $3.2 Million for Solar Projects to Enhance Energy Resilience
Tribal Energy Alternatives, a Tribal-led affiliate of GRID Alternatives, has allocated $3.2 million in grant funding to 14 Tribal Nations and associated organizations. This funding aims to bolster solar energy access, workforce development, and long-term energy resilience within these communities. The initiative is part of a broader effort to empower Tribal-led solutions in the clean energy transition, focusing on energy sovereignty and community power. The projects are expected to install approximately 1496 kW of solar power, with installations primarily carried out by tribal contractors and trainees. The initiative also includes workforce development programs, which have already trained 26 tribal individuals in the first quarter of 2026, with each project potentially training 4 to 8 trainees.
