AT CEO John Stankey Emphasizes Skilled Trades for Broadband Infrastructure Amid AI Growth
John Stankey, Chairman and CEO of AT&T, highlighted the critical need for skilled workers to build and maintain broadband networks. His remarks were made during the launch of the 'Building Futures Skilled Trades Coalition' by the Lowe’s Foundation. This coalition, the largest cross-sector skilled trades alliance in U.S. history, aims to train and develop one million individuals for skilled trades careers by 2035. Stankey stressed that as artificial intelligence (AI) and other emerging technologies become more integrated into daily life, the resilience of broadband networks will be paramount. He asserted that these essential networks cannot be constructed or sustained without a robust skilled workforce.
