Rep. Salud Carbajal Announces $1.3 Million in Federal Funding for Santa Barbara Airport Upgrades
U.S. Representative Salud Carbajal has announced the allocation of $1,304,418 in federal funding for infrastructure improvements at the Santa Barbara Airport. This funding, sourced from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law’s Airport Infrastructure Grant program, will be used for installing new signage and markings on Runway 7/25, reconstructing on-site pavement, and upgrading Taxiways A, B, and C. The Santa Barbara Airport is a crucial hub for the region, serving both visitors and business travelers, and this investment aims to ensure the airport can meet future demands. Christopher Hastert, the Airport Director, expressed gratitude for the federal investment, emphasizing its role in maintaining the airport's safety and reliability.
