Boise YMCA Expands Facilities to Include Neurodivergent-Friendly Spaces and Community Services
The new downtown Boise YMCA has significantly expanded its offerings, introducing dedicated spaces for children and adults with neurodivergence. These new facilities include both a high-sensory room equipped with a 'ninja course' and a low-sensory room designed for quiet decompression. Beyond these specialized areas, the YMCA continues to provide traditional amenities such as swimming, fitness classes, and various other mainstays. Additionally, the facility now features a fully functional Cap-ED branch offering financial advice to all, regardless of their account status, and health and wellness advice provided by St. Luke's, all free of charge. David Duro, president and CEO of the Treasure Valley Family YMCA, emphasized that these expansions aim to increase accessibility to services for everyone, stating, 'It's really important to us that people know if you have a lot of money, a little money or no money, this YMCA's for you.'
