Ukrainian Drone Strikes Threaten Russian Entrepreneurs with Bankruptcy
Ukraine's ongoing drone strike campaign has severely impacted Russia's logistics infrastructure, particularly affecting the Wildberries marketplace. Ukrainian drones have targeted at least 20 Wildberries logistics centers since mid-July, resulting in the destruction of approximately 1.2 million square meters of warehouse capacity. This has led to a potential wave of bankruptcies among independent entrepreneurs who sell goods through Wildberries, as they face significant financial losses. The Russian government reportedly lacks the resources to compensate these sellers, who are personally liable for their business debts under Russian law. The Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry is considering changes to bankruptcy procedures to protect these entrepreneurs, while authorities discuss support measures like credit holidays and tax breaks.
