Graubünden Tourism Sees Surge as Tourists Flee Heat for Swiss Mountains
The Swiss canton of Graubünden is experiencing a surge in tourism as people seek relief from ongoing heatwaves by heading to higher altitudes. According to Graubünden Ferien, the local tourism organization, there has been a noticeable increase in spontaneous bookings, particularly from domestic travelers. The region's appeal is bolstered by its cooler mountain climate and scenic landscapes, drawing visitors to destinations like Davos-Klosters and Engadin. This trend follows a successful summer season in 2025, which saw record overnight stays, and is expected to continue as the heat persists.
