Suspect in Houston's 'Lovers' Lane' Cold Case Murders Dies in Custody
Floyd William Parrott, the suspect in the infamous 'Lovers' Lane' murders in Houston, has died in custody weeks after his arrest. Parrott, 64, was found unresponsive in his Nebraska prison cell while awaiting extradition to Texas. He was charged with the 1990 murders of Cheryl Henry, 22, and Andy Atkinson, 21, whose bodies were discovered near their car on a remote road in West Houston. The case had remained unsolved for 36 years until Parrott's arrest in March 2026, following a DNA match from a previous case. The Harris County District Attorney's Office expressed regret over not being able to present their evidence in court but remains committed to pursuing justice for the victims' families.
