Severe Thunderstorms Expected in Chicago Area with High Winds and Hail
The Chicago area is under a weather hazard warning for severe thunderstorms expected later Wednesday, August 26, 2026. The National Weather Service has forecast storms capable of producing winds up to 60 mph, hail up to the size of a dollar coin, and a small chance of tornadoes. A cold front moving into the region is the primary driver of this weather system.
