Congresswoman Ross Announces New USPTO Community Engagement Office at NC State Centennial Campus
Congresswoman Deborah Ross (NC-02) has announced that the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) will establish a new Community Engagement Office at North Carolina State University’s (NC State) Centennial Campus. This development follows Congresswoman Ross's advocacy for a USPTO presence in the Research Triangle, citing the region's robust innovation ecosystem, which includes institutions producing world-class research, educating future leaders, and fostering numerous startups across various fields. The establishment of this office is a direct outcome of the Unleashing American Innovators Act, legislation championed by Congresswoman Ross and signed into law by President Biden in 2022. This act mandates the USPTO to open at least four Community Outreach Offices nationwide by the end of 2027, aiming to broaden access to the nation's patent system resources and expertise.
