Holocaust Survivor, 92, Immigrates to Israel Decades After Kindertransport
Helen Charash, a 92-year-old Holocaust survivor, has made aliyah to Israel nearly nine decades after escaping Nazi Germany on the Kindertransport. Born in Hamburg, Charash fled to the Netherlands and later reunited with her family in the U.S. Her sister, Eva Hesse, became a renowned artist. Charash's move to Israel was driven by her desire to be close to her family, despite challenges such as language barriers. Her story reflects the enduring impact of the Holocaust and the resilience of survivors who continue to seek connection and community.
